MOA Convenes Meeting on Enhancing Quality of Agricultural Products
Recently, China's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs ("MOA") convened a meeting in Nanning, Guangxi Province, to advance efforts in improving agricultural product quality, explicitly emphasizing the need to strengthen standardization guidance, promote the upgrading of agricultural product quality standards, and increase the supply of green, organic, distinctive, high-quality, innovative, and geographically indicated agricultural products.

On July 2, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs convened a conference in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, to advance efforts in improving agricultural product quality. Maierdan·Mugaiti, member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Minister of the Ministry, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
The meeting studied and implemented the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping, carried out the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, called for taking concrete actions to establish and practice a correct view of political achievements, adhere closely to the principle of high-quality development, increase the supply of high-quality, distinctive agricultural products, better meet the people's aspirations for a better life, and advance the quality improvement of agricultural product safety work on the new journey.
The meeting emphasized the need to uphold safety standards, implement comprehensive chain-of-supply supervision requirements, and establish a robust quality assurance network for agricultural products; strengthen standardization leadership and advance the upgrading of product quality standards; focus on production stages, pay close attention to management during harvesting and shelf life periods, and promote quality sorting and grading of agricultural products; increase the supply of green, organic, specialty, high-quality, innovative, and geographically indicated agricultural products, expand their total volume, ensure quality, and build strong brands; conduct quality monitoring and evaluation of agricultural products and improve the monitoring indicator system.
The meeting outlined key tasks for the second half of the year, emphasizing the need to rigorously implement comprehensive regulatory measures for the production, distribution, and use of pesticides and veterinary drugs in accordance with the law, strengthen oversight across the entire supply chain, and effectively ensure the quality and safety of agricultural products.
Responsible officials from relevant departments of the Ministry of Commerce, the National Health Commission, and the State Administration for Market Regulation; agricultural and rural affairs departments of all provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities), and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps; as well as relevant divisions and units under the Ministry attended the meeting.
